WHIST is an alternative rock band from Lyon, France, with electro and rap influences. With live performance at its core, the band delivers a structured, energetic and powerful show, backed by solid stage experience. They’ll release an EP recorded at Alias Studio in 2027.
WHIST was born from a friendship that goes back to their teenage years. All four members grew up in and around Lyon, spending their youth between bars, public benches and music venues. It was Between a youth and community centre and a music school that they developed their musicianship and their desire to take the stage together.
Coming from the same urban environment but with very different musical sensibilities, they have shaped a project that reflects who they are: a hybrid form of rock that naturally blends rap and electro, above all designed for the live experience. Influenced by the American pop-punk they grew up listening to, they initially chose to write in English before gradually bringing French into the mix, exploring the themes that have shaped them from childhood to the present day.
Over the years, the band has built its project on their own, learning how to produce, record and create their music and audiovisual content, an approach that has shaped an authentic artistic identity. Today, WHIST is entering a new chapter, with a label distribution through Riptide Records and a publishing partnership with Merci, Au Revoir.
On stage, WHIST delivers an energetic, ever-changing show driven by three distinct voices. Juliette’s powerful lead vocals make way for Théo’s rap flow as she moves to the keyboards, while Jules switches between backing vocals and guitar solos, and Mars moves from guitar rhythms to electronic machines. Every song brings the crowd into action, inviting them to mosh, dance or simply get carried away. Standing still is not an option.
This energy and versatility have taken WHIST to a wide range of festivals, including GP Explorer 3, Rock’n Poche, PHNMN Fréquences and the MainStage at Imaginarium Festival, where they played alongside artists such as Vald, Keziah Jones, Vladimir Cauchemar, Disiz, Makala, Danyl and Zelie. They have also opened for Sun (Brutal Pop) and PVRIS, and performed at Longlive Rockfest with Pierce The Veil, State Champs and Sleeping With Sirens, consistently captivating and engaging the audience.
